Hey guys, I have a request for the comic pushers.
Despite the massive delays, I've really enjoyed this recent Secret Wars event. However, I haven't had much exposure to most Marvel events. I've read the majority of all of DC's big events over the years but missed most of Marvel's until recently. The majority of Marvel's events seem to have mixed reviews. Which makes it hard to tell which are worth reading or are important to understanding more of the Marvel Universe.
Could you guys please suggest some other Marvel events that are worth checking out?

I hated Fear Itself, I don't know if it just didn't live up to what I was hoping or what, but it felt very disjointed simply showing vignettes, and I expected more out of Fraction.
I know people love to hate it, but I loved Civil War. I haven't read it in a very long time, but I was all in when I did read it and found it to be a blast.
Those are the only two Marvel events that I think I've read off the top of my head but I know that people also had great things to say about Infinity and Spider-Verse.

I'd go for the three big company wide ones, Civil War, Secret Invasion and Dark Reign for a start. Those were pretty good. Skip Fear Itself, it wasn't that good. Same goes for Original Sin and AvX if you ask me. There are a few minor events, events that only span a couple of books instead of all of them, that you can check out. Spider-verse was already mentioned and it's pretty fun. The X-men had a couple of events following eachother like Manifest Destiny, Schism, etc. (there are more but I can't think of them right now). If you're an x-fan, I'd check those out. Stay away from whatever Shadowland and Chaos War were.

Honestly the events aren't worth the time. Civil War was interesting but it wasn't needed. House of m was interesting also but it could have been reduced. Dark reign was cool but eh...
Honestly, events are the biggest cash grabs. It's kinda like epic. "We want to change the status quo of these characters."
Sorry to be so down about it.

I've recommended this series before, but Annihilation is fantastic. It's a Marvel Cosmic event involving Nova, Silver Surfer, Super Skrull, Ronan the Accuser, Drax the Destroyer, Thanos, and many many more. The roots of it were born in a two issue mini called Drax Earthfall, then moves into the Annihilation Prologue. Then the story breaks into four minis: Nova, Ronan the Accuser, Super Skrull, and Silver Surfer. Finally, it finishes with the Annihilation 6 issue mini. Just large, bombastic fun.
