Hey everyone! I know these books are old news but, I have never heard Joe and Matt talk about then...I don't think...and I have been listening for over a year now. I was curious to see what people thought of Joe The Barbarian (Grant Morrison / Sean Murphy) and Punk Rock Jesus (Sean Murphy). I loved them both. I have to say Grant Morrison has a twisted mind. I have read a lot of his stuff including Happy....Wow...Wow....but Joe The Barbarian was an awesome story. The art is what really sells it for me. Sean Murphy is a god! Well...maybe a demi-god. Punk Rock Jesus...one of the best stories I have read...ever....don't have to say anything about the art...it speaks for itself and Murphy can also write one helluva story too!!! I would like to hear what others thought of these books....and since I brought up Happy...You can throw your thought out on that as well. Thanks everyone!
I had the same problem when i first started to read it. But...when i went back to it, i enjoyed it. It takes a bit to get into it. The further you go...the better it gets. Turned out to be one of my favorite stories of all time.
I know, it's weird, I kind of liked him initially, but after trying to read some of his comics, I'm just left confused, it's all so busy and scratchy and chaotic. Like a Frank Millar off his ritalin sort of thing. Like this spread, I just can't get down with it. Give me a Allred or a Mignola over this any day.

I will read anything Sean Murphy draws. the dude brings it every time! and Punk Rock Jesus was no exception. The story was really solid and the art fit the tone perfectly. A must read for comic readers in my opinion.
