This is it for me. As much as I love Thanos and all the weird Power Cosmic that Marvel brings to the table, nothing beats the New Gods stuff that Kirby did. I'm so very, very excited that DC is doing a Mister Miracle series. I hope that Big Barda's in it and we get some romance. I hope Darkseid looms and is spooky and terrifying.
I also think DC wins (in my book, at least) on the mystical front. I really enjoy Doctor Strange, but it's hard to beat Doctor Fate, Constantine, Etrigan, etc. Ugh, so good.
No love for Marvel cosmic? Well, allow me. The one place Marvel beats D.C. Is in their cosmic books. I love Marvel's cosmic entities like Galactus, the Living Tribunal, Eternity, and more. They're big, trippy, and cosmicy. I struggle to think of D.C.'s equivalent. D.C. Has the New Gods, sure, but the last time they were showcased truly effectively was in Cosmic Odyssey. Darkseid gets tons of play but that's about it. D.C. Has awesome alien races(Durlans, Dominators, The Khund), but D.C. Criminally underutilizes them. I suppose I might enjoy D.C. Cosmic more if I were a Green Lantern Corps fan but I'm not. D.C. Had REBELS but they were a pale comparison to Guardians of the Galaxy. In my memory, the last time D.C. Had fun with their alien races was in Invasion! Since then Marvel's had Thanos Quest, The Infinity Gauntlet, and Annihilation plus a bunch of other cosmic stories And Annihilation on its own beats any cosmic output from D.C. Annihilation to Thanos imperative is pure cosmic genius and very dear to my heart. So, Marvel wins for me.

I'm copy/pasting my response from the FB fan group. Generally seems like more of the regulars check the forums and get into it here a bit more...
It's tough, because for me the best COSMIC = KIRBY, and I do effing love the New Gods. I'm all about the 4th World, but while Darkseid sort of stands as the DCU's go-to big bad cosmic threat villain, overall the New Gods and their aesthetic/mythology have never felt like a solid fit with the rest of the DC Universe. In some ways they clash really bad. Whereas, at Marvel, some of the Kirby creations I might not like as much as the New Gods pantheon overall, but Kirby's DNA is over so much more of the Marvel universe, that for me Marvel cosmic just gels better. Celestials, Galactus, Eternals, Asgard as a space mountain, The Negative Zone, The Inhuman royal family, all of them fit so much better together as a whole.
Anyone else feel what I'm putting down?
Similarly with what folks are adding thoughts on the mystical stuff I'll throw down that the unique bizarro artistic vision of Steve Ditko beats anything I've ever seen in any Dr. Fate story ever.
Sandman can def give the good Dr. a run for his money though.

I get what you are saying. Kirby is the foundation of "Marvel Cosmic". Hell, their "space" motif is covered in his "dots". The New Gods are more fun but feel a little more separate from the DCU as a whole.
