So the THNerds have been looking for new OGNs to read in 2014 and I've got a couple for the list.
It's not on the Diamond list for 2/19 but it's in my monthly preorder shipment for this week (as well as on Midtown Comics' list). WHERE BOLD STARS GO TO DIE by Gerry Alanguilan and Arlanzandro C. Esmena is coming from SLG Publishing, finally. Alanguilan is best known as an inker of Whilce Portacio and Leinil F Yu but he's also the writer/artist of the chicken-based masterpiece ELMER. I've been looking forward to this for a while. Apparently it's been in the works from Alanguilan since 2000 (and the artist passed away in 2010 after completing the art. To give you an idea of the subject matter "bold stars" are the Philippine term for prominent adult movie actresses.
Also: Jason Shiga got some press last week as a contributing artist for the upcoming ALL-NEW X-MEN #25. He's a soon-to-be-well-known artist who mostly does web-based OGNs. He had the OGN EMPIRE STATE - A LOVE STORY (or Not) released in paperback in 2011 (which was pretty good but not particularly note-worthy because I'd forgotten that I'd read it). I recently read the 150 page BOOKHUNTER about a 1970s library cop which is surprisingly awesome. It's like Lieutenant Frank Bullitt meets Lt. Bookman from SEINFELD. It's right on his website.

Hey guys, dozo here, been awhile since I logged in and don’t remember my password, but I digress. I was updating my comicbookdb page I didn’t know I had and saw in the top ten recently added writers column, a Tits McGee. Naturally I had to check it out and see if this was a parody account or not. It’s not. Tits wrote drew colored and lettered a story in the anthology trade, Sex Machine. 15 creators have stories in this book including Fi fi Stapes. You guys should review this one just for Tits McGee alone, if not the Fiona Staples story
