Image is a mixed bag for me. I try to give most of the new series a try, but I find after 1 trade I just lose interest. Some of it is the release schedule, some of it is stories that don't seem to go anywhere.
Now, I do think you have picked some of the better ones. I love Nailbiter and the Jupiter series.

I don't understand why Vertigo stopped doing the $10 first trade. If you like that price point Valiant also does it for the first volumes.
Image is alright, I never fully understand the Image love when I feel like Vertigo was doing this before and it just wasn't getting as much love. Now Vertigo has stopped doing a lot of these things (the $1 first issue, $10 first trade, $3 issues) and image has picked it up and image gets hailed as an innovator. I guess the truth is I'm just bitter that Vertigo has changed on me because people weren't paying attention to it and now I have to live with Image being somewhat similar but still different.
The one thing I like about Image is that they publish all sorts of books. The one thing I don't like is that sadly the fact that it's published by Image doesn't make it automatically synonymous with quality.

Good question! I love the price point because it is a decent invest in an hour of my time. I have a pretty good radar from the drop about things I would like so I end up preordering things prior to the tpbs. I do get surprised though, and the $10 tpb helps a lot. I never would have tried (and really liked) INVISIBLE REPUBLIC without the $10 cover price (and the THN recommendations).
